Scientology Initiatives Connect Human Rights, Prevention and Community Support
During June and July 2026, a diverse programme of civic and social projects brought together volunteers, educators, public officials and civil-society organisations in Europe and beyond.
The activities addressed human rights, drug prevention, cultural dialogue and disaster relief. They took place in several European countries and extended to human-rights education in Nepal and earthquake relief in Venezuela.
In Madrid, members of different religious and cultural communities gathered to discuss diversity, freedom of religion and peaceful coexistence. The event also included cultural presentations that helped explain traditions from different communities.
A related gathering in Milan brought members of the Sri Lankan community together at the Church of Scientology. Participants examined values such as honesty, responsibility and respect for others. The programme drew on principles from The Way to Happiness, the non-religious moral guide written by Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard.
In Ireland, Scientology volunteers brought the Truth About Drugs campaign to the Clondalkin Festival. Families and young people were able to review materials designed to help prevent drug abuse before it begins.
Drug education also formed part of a multicultural pageant held at the Church of Scientology & Community Centre of Dublin. The event welcomed participants from a wide range of cultural and professional backgrounds. It combined professional achievement, traditional performances and drug-prevention awareness.
Human-rights education was another central theme. A Scientology Network documentary featured Rahul KC, president of Youth for Human Rights Nepal, and described how his work developed from grassroots education into cooperation with communities and institutions. His activities are based on teaching the 30 articles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in a form that young people and families can understand.
In Copenhagen, diplomats, NGO representatives, political figures and community leaders gathered to mark Nelson Mandela International Day. The programme addressed human rights, cooperation and peaceful social change. Youth for Human Rights organisations were also recognised for years of educational activity.
The most extensive humanitarian operation followed the earthquakes in Venezuela. Nearly 400 Scientology Volunteer Ministers and partner teams helped support affected families, rescue personnel and local communities. European Scientologists contributed aid, while volunteers from Spain travelled to Venezuela to assist directly.
The work continued as the emergency shifted from immediate rescue to recovery. Volunteers helped with water, hygiene materials, transportation and temporary living needs. The response reflected the principle that effective humanitarian work requires sustained cooperation beyond the first days of a disaster.
In Denmark, New Era Publications International received an HP Indigo award recognising its printing volume. The publishing house produces works by L. Ron Hubbard in dozens of languages for international distribution. Its production capacity supports access to Scientology religious texts, educational materials and humanitarian publications across a wide geographic area.
Ivan Arjona, representative of the Church of Scientology to the EU, OSCE, Council of Europe and United Nations, said the initiatives demonstrated how European values become meaningful news eu elections when translated into community action.
